Jenna Mahoney, LPCMH, NCC, PMH-C

Meet Jenna, owner and licensed professional counselor of mental health! Jenna obtained her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Messiah University in 2007 and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University in 2012. She began seeing clients in an outpatient agency setting shortly thereafter, but had a vision of opening her own practice down the road. In 2016, that vision came to life and At Ease Counseling was born.
Knowing she wanted to specialize in something that was needed in the community, she considered lots of options. After having her second child and dealing with her own postpartum anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder, she settled on perinatal and infant mental health as her niche! Her personal experiences, along with all the extra training she has completed through Postpartum Support International, make Jenna a knowledgeable advocate for her clients. She is known for her ability to form strong relationships with her clients and meet them where they’re at. Several clients have coined her as the “resource queen,” as she makes sure her clients are well equipped with resources to move forward outside of their sessions.
Jenna particularly enjoys treating postpartum anxiety and OCD and was trained in Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy through the Cognitive Behavioral Institute. In addition, she was trained in EMDR through the Trauma Specialists Training Institute and has found the modality to be a critical and effective part of her practice in order to help clients heal from trauma and other distressing events.
Jenna has recently begun accepting clients for autism service consultation , where she assists families who have autism-related concerns for their children. Through this process, she helps clients navigate through the often complex world of getting their child appropriately evaluated and walks through the steps of accessing care after an evaluation.
In her personal life, Jenna enjoys traveling and exploring new places with her military husband and two sweet and sassy daughters. She is on the board for the Delaware Chapter of Postpartum International as the Climb out of the Darkness chairperson.
